Latest News:

I have uploaded a host of pictures for the Jackie Du Plessis Classes at Ackworth 2011, including the Parasol Etui.

I have also spent all afternoon uploading new products from Kelmscott Designs on the TSG website, including a new Needle Minder and some lovely new charts and kits. I hope you like them.

Kaalund Yarns

Many of you may not realise that TSG have been stocking these for ages. The truth is they are so popular that they sell out almost as soon as they arrive! We have a new order, with new colours arriving soon.

They are the most gorgeous Australian variegated silk stranded thread, consisting of 100% cultivated silk and come in 12 strand 10m skeins - yes that's 120m of silk thread all for the very small cost of £3.00 / skein.

They come in a variety of 30 unusual but stunning colours. For the full range please visit www.kaalundyarns.com.au

We can also supply Classic Two 100% wool in 50g balls or 15m skeins for projects requiring wool.

To order or discuss your requirements, please contact Linda linda@thesamplerguild.co.uk

Grace Whitmore (1884)

A reproduction of an unusual Bristol Orphanage Sampler by Katie Trendell of an Elne of Lynnyn...

"I see and handle all of the charts (and everything else) that is advertised on the TSG Emporium, as I either have to scan or photograph them. The standard of many of these charts is very good, but I have to say that this is the best presented chart kit I have seen, it really is of the highest quality." - Mike

Please visit www.'Elne of Lynnyn..' by Katie Trendell for details.

Carrow House

Carrow House Costume and Textile Study Centre is now open! It is much more user friendly and there is better access for viewing items and the excellent study library. All the embroidery samplers have now been re-boxed & re-catalogued & my colleague Audrey, also a volunteer, and I are now working our way through the plain sewing ones!

For an appointment to visit, please call: 01603 223870 or 223873 and visit the website: www.museums.norfolk.gov.uk

This design sourcebook for makers of contemporary samplers contains motifs and patterns based on both reworked traditional themes, together with imaginative and original designs. The book is suitable for a variety of skill levels and offers a wealth of exciting new patterns for further individual interpretation.
